We are an association of congregations whose understanding of the Faith is rooted in the Bible and the Lutheran Confessions. We recognize the congregation, gathered around God’s Word and Sacraments, is the Church, so we don’t get much more hierarchical than that.
God’s Word is clear: We were created for a purpose; we were redeemed for a purpose; we are set apart for a purpose! Jesus calls us to follow him, and join in the great work of making disciples of all nations. We know it’s not merely about “going” to Church – we are supposed to be the Church!
Our connection to LCMC is not hierarchical or legislative, but geographical: Primarily, we exist to promote fellowship, mutual ministry and church planting. Over sixty congregations have saddled up to ride with us, and our posse is always looking for more good hands. Yee-haw!

District Council
The council is made up of pastors and members of congregations from across Texas who serve three-year terms. Though each hails from a member congregation, council members are elected to represent the interests of the District as a whole. The primary function of the District Council is to oversee the Director of Mission Growth, the vision and mission of the District, and the program ministry of the District, especially the Annual Gathering held each summer.

Brian Meuth
Brian and his wife of 39 years, Trece, have been members of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bulverde for approximately 25 years. Brian currently serves as President on the church council and is on the church Prayer and Care teams. Brian also serves on the boards of two Bulverde area nonprofit organizations – the Bulverde Spring Branch Activity Center (Senior Center) and the Bulverde Thrift Store. Brian is a founder and currently serves as CEO of M&S Engineering. Brian is looking forward to helping LCMC congregations and others learn to discover and engage with the Word of God. Brian was elected to his first term on the District Council in 2024.

Vice Chair
David Mayer
David currently serves as the Pastor at Trinity Lutheran Church in Blanco. He also is our New Testament faculty for Harvest Workers and serves on the Academic Advisory Team. He is excited about training disciple makers through Harvest Workers. David and his wife Tanya make their home in Stonewall. David hopes the Texas District will continue to grown into a people of big-hearted hospitality, practical caring for their neighbors, and loving boldness in sharing the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. David was actively involved in establishing the Texas District in 2009. After several years off of leadership, David was elected to a new first term on District Council in 2022.

Gina Eliot
Gina is a devoted wife, mother of three, and member of Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Victoria, where she serves as Office Administrator. Gina is committed to serving the district and looks forward to its continued growth. In her free time, she enjoys reading, live music, and spending time with her family. Gina was elected to her first term on the District Council in 2020 and to the position of Secretary in 2022.

Cyndy Malone
Cyndy is a member of Zion, Castroville where she serves as Secretary to the Council. Cyndy has been married to Ron Benke for over 24 years. She retired from AT&T in December 2023 and is finding ways to serve God and her community with her newfound time. She plays in Zion’s handbell choir, sings in the vocal choir, and regularly serves as a worship assistant. Cyndy is looking forward to encouraging the LCMC Texas District churches to be more active and involved with the Texas District in Mission for Christ. Cyndy was elected to her first term on District Council in 2024.

Caleb Bahr
Caleb is a native Texan, a nerd, and an introvert. Caleb knows that clinging on to the cross for dear life hasn’t steered him wrong yet, and it never will. He has been blessed by the support and fellowship of the members of the Texas District and hopes to give back to the district that helped him so much. Caleb was elected to his first term on the District Council in 2026.

David Coulson
David is the Director of Youth at Living Word, Grapevine where he has faithfully served for 13 years. He and his wife, Jessica, have three children: Aubrey, Calder, and Grant. David is passionate about expanding mission opportunities for congregations across the LCMC Texas District. David was elected to his first term on the District Council in 2026.

Roberta is a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Hondo. Roberta was elected to her first term on the District Council in 2025.

Barbara Hoover
Barbara is a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Dime Box where she teaches Sunday School and is active in local church outreach at Jehovah Jireh Tutoring Center. She also serves with the Lions Club, Via de Cristo, and youth prison ministry at Giddings State School. Barbara looks forward to connecting with other LCMC congregations in her area to support each other in mission for Christ. Barbara was elected to her first term on the District Council in 2024.

Charlie Johnson
Charlie is a small business owner, community leader, and devout supporter of his faith. With a successful career as CIO at Trane, he has extensive experience in business and technical knowledge. He is deeply committed to serving God and uplifting his community, actively participating in his church, St. Paul Lutheran Church of Phillipsburg (Brenham), where he has served as Financial Secretary and Council President, providing steady, servant-hearted leadership. Charlie also shares his expertise as a Board Member at the Brenham Country Club and the Elks Club. Alongside his wife Jo—his partner for 27 years—they are known for their faith, kindness, and willingness to lend a helping hand.
Oh, and… when he’s not working on initiatives, you will find Charlie on the golf course, enjoying a round with friends! Charlie was elected to his first term on district Council in 2025.

Chuck Knudson
Chuck’s life has been shaped by service and community. Growing up as an Army brat, he began kindergarten in Germany and graduated from high school in Anchorage, Alaska. He attended John Tarleton College in Stephenville before joining the U.S. Army, where he served and deployed to Vietnam.
After his military service, Chuck built a successful career with Bill Miller BBQ and later launched his own pest control business. In recent years, his entrepreneurial spirit has taken a new direction—founding a coffee roasting business as a ministry.
Today, Chuck serves as a missionary church planter and Pastor of Hebrews 10:24 Community Church in the Dellview neighborhood of San Antonio. In 2025, he was elected to his first term on the District Council, continuing his commitment to faith and leadership.

Kris Rebentisch
Kris serves as Pastor of St. John, Winters. He is a seasoned pastor and teacher and a former missionary to Taiwan and served various churches in Nebraska and California. He and his wife, Thangte, and have one grown child in Minnesota. Kris is excited about the mission focus of the district and the possibilities of expanding it through dedicated evangelism and discipleship training. Kris was elected to his first term on the District Council in 2026.

Ray Siegel
Ray serves as the Council President of Trinity, Mission. Ray is a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Mission, where he serves as congregational council president and is active in many of Trinity’s missions. He is joyful to serve alongside others in strengthening the Texas District’s mission for Christ. Ray was elected to his first term on the District Council in 2026.

Bryce Formwalt has served the LCMC Texas District full-time since 2015. He is both our Director of Mission Growth and the Program Director for Harvest Workers, our online ministry training program.
Bryce and his wife Lisa are the parents of two adult sons and reside in Georgetown. He is a graduate of Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa and the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. His diverse ministry background includes serving churches in Ohio, Illinois, and North Dakota in both suburban and rural settings as a solo, associate, lead pastor, and church planter. A native of Iowa, Bryce is still an avid Hawkeye fan, enjoys traveling, hiking, personal finance, and fast cars. But his greatest passion is the mission of the church.
Bryce understands his role with the District to do whatever he can to help our congregations and leaders be successful in their mission. He coaches church planters and ministry leaders, assists congregations in transition, and is available to lead workshops or programs that help move the church towards its mission. He affirms our mission is to multiply disciples and churches and acknowledges that this endeavor requires patient faithfulness. He looks forward to seeing all that God will do!

Program Administrator
Caitlin Graver
Caitlin Graver joined our team part-time as our Communication Specialist in October of 2025 and stepped into a full-time role with us in May of 2026 as our Communication and Program Administrator. Caitlin brings over twelve years of experience in marketing and event planning within the education industry. She has a passion for creating meaningful connections and impactful experiences.
Caitlin and her husband, Adam, make their home in Twin Lakes, Wisconsin. They are the proud parents to two lively toddler boys who keep life fun and fast-paced.
In her free time, Caitlin enjoys exploring new places with her family, attending live music events, and watching sports. She is excited to be part of our mission to multiply disciples and churches and is eager to see God at work in our ministry together.

Bookkeeper
Erin Guenther
Erin is a long-time member of St. Paul, Hondo and has been employed there part-time as the Financial Secretary since 2018. Erin and her husband, Jason, live in D’Hanis, Texas, with their teenage twin daughters, who are active in the high school band, sports, and other school activities, as well as the church youth group. When she’s not working, attending games or running her daughters to and from activities, Erin enjoys various arts and crafts, attending Bible studies, and spending time with her family and friends.
Erin joined the LCMC Texas District team in November of 2025. She looks forward to seeing what God has in store for her and how He will use her to help further the mission of the LCMC Texas District.

Youth Event Coordinator
Kimberly Wunderlich
For more than 20 years, Kimberly has called St. Paul, New Braunfels home. During that time, she has been blessed to work with youth and children in professional and volunteer positions associated with ministry and education. She currently serves as Director of Youth Ministry for St. Paul.
Kimberly is married to Corbee, and they’ve been fortunate to raise their three children, Dylan, Rylee, and Macey, on the Wunderlich family ranch in Spring Branch. If Kimberly isn’t spending time with youth and families at church, you will find her trying to keep up with her own teenage and young adult kids, taking care of livestock, or cheering on the Aggies.
Kimberly is passionate about building up young Christian servants and leaders, as well as engaging and equipping congregations and families as they strive to do the same. She looks forward to being a part of the LCMC Texas District team and seeing God at work in lives and churches through the work of the District. Kimberly’s email is kimberly@lcmctexas.org.
